Dr. Sara Ip & Naturopathic Medicine

When we think of healing in the conventional sense, we typically think of removing, suppressing or managing a disease and its accompanying physical, mental or emotional symptoms, however this approach is often limited as it does not address the underlying root cause of the problem. As a result, the disease may become chronic, the symptoms may spread, persist and/or become life-long concerns.

Naturopathic philosophy views healing as a holistic process involving a deeper understanding of our own contributions to illness in consideration of the: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual components. When we look at treating the root cause of disease, it does not create a dependency on a substance but rather investigates the underlying root cause for the body's dysfunction.

Naturopathic medicine combines both western clinical medicine with traditional eastern medicine practices and views the body as an intelligent organism that works optimally when it has achieved a state of balance.

When we recognize the body's symptoms as a physical, mental or emotional manifestation of our choices, habits, and beliefs, we are empowered to make the necessary changes that support our growth and healing.

Clinical & Community Outreach

Dr. Sara Ip, ND completed her clinical internships at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic, at the Sherbourne Health Centre & HIV Clinic and Queen West Community Health Centre in Toronto. She also completed a 1-yr clinical internship at the Brampton Civic Hospital in the hospital outpatient setting, providing health care to various communities across the Greater Toronto Area.

Environmental Medicine

After graduating from CCNM, Dr. Sara Ip gained international naturopathic medical experience working at Central and Discovery Bay districts in Hong Kong. Her clinical exposure to various health conditions from asthma, frequent colds, bronchitis, sinusitis, allergies, parasites and chronic infections and the interplay of environmental exposures, shaped her interest toward the field of environmental toxicity. Dr. Sara Ip considers the environmental impact on human health. From contaminated water, heavy metals, molds and air pollutants, she understands that health extends beyond an eco-conscious view of our individual footprints to that of our communities and world at large.
